current event

The city of surrey is working hard to turn surrey b.c into the city of the future. If you don’t know what that means allow me explain: The expansion of jobs is off the hook and to tell you the truth alot of people are working right from their homes and earning thousands of dollars each month! More and more jobs have been added down at downtown, metro and langley only for the help/support of people who have no jobs and are slowly going broke. You won’t beleive how far our mayor and the future planners have gotten it’s completely amazing! As promised this city surrey wll never be the same. By saying that and by saying ”future” I certainly do not mean hover cars and flying trains, none of that. Of course humans are working very hard to develop our transportation due to basically the one and only major news that is going around you might’ve heard of it but if you didn’t its known as:GLOBAL WARMING!Of-course there’s no way we can go up in space and sew back the ripped layer of the ozone! Anyways heading a little off topic there now back on track. Our mayor Dyann Watts has given a long and satisfying speech about turning surrey the city of the future. She’s hoping for new families to enter canada and settle in surrey. When canada was formed not a very old country the population of our surrey was less and now it has increased alot. As everyone knows there have been crimes more than expected but now with future construction plans for the city it seems its heading in the right direction. In most areas of downtown upto 40 feet towers and buildings are being built, for people again who have no jobs. It is a dissapointment that alot of surrey’s residents are and have already moved out and due to the reason of crime but they did not have the knowledge of the fact that the city has changed its direction and is heading towards success. The city still welcomes them back. New immigrants are always welcome! To help out in this huge step were taking kwantlen collegde will be expanded and given a wide variety of knowlegde. Not only that but SFU campus will be expanded and more and high education will be provided in both polytechnic and SFU.

Our future has arrived!!!!!

Court House Field Trip:

What I saw At the Surrey CourtHouse:
My observations at the courthouse seemed something like this there were real courtrooms, real trials, not major but things like vandalism or theft. We were assigned to 5 different groups. Each group was given a room to go to and watch a real trial. Before we did that or anything else we were told and gone over the rules and given a warning of entering room:107. Reason was there was a major case or trial going on in that room. The major trial was a murder trial so we were forbidden to go in there.

What I learned:
Things I learned were quite fascinating, and things I didn’t already have knowledge of. For example: First degree murder is when you intentivally and the murder was planned. Second degree murder is when you don’t or didn’t have the intentions of doing the murder or it wasn’t planned. And last but not least a man slaughter: is when you’re already involved in criminal activities, for example: drug trade and you kill someone. So those things I found quite interesting!

My questions:
Some of my questions are related to the accused and its position during the trial.

-What did the Surrey Court house think when putting a jail beneath the witness box?
-What experience are we supposed to have during the mock trial?
-Why is the age: twelve considered or expected to know all the things in the criminal code.
-Is the judge searched before entering the courtroom?
-Why don’t the teachers have a part in the mock trial?

President Obama is the first African-American president. Obama has a family of two girls and a lovely wife. He is a man with very powerful words and the speeches he makes are so promising. He stands tall with pride of his country. At his inauguration he had asked America to pull together and turn the country in a worthy enough place to live. After what he’s done and yet to do, any country would want him as their president. What more could you possibly ask for in a president? President Obama payed a visit at the needy and painted their apartments, not just that he sacrificed his time and travelled in city buses, subways and local train stations. For only the experience of one who can afford none more than these transportation’s. I don’t mean to be rude or anything but with Bush as America’s president, America wouldn’t be what it looked like. If you know what I mean. Obviously Afghans hate Bush because look at their country, has it got anything to it at all? Didn’t think so!

My opinion on Obama is that he is a very encouraging man and has been gifted. With the way he speaks and people listen to him with all ears. Its amazing how this man has power over all with a gaurded intention and yet all Americans have so much respect for a man who has promised so much to their country. Could Obama have any more plans to turn America into a country, every other country would look upto? Its possible and yet to happen.

What I saw at Obama’s inaugration was just wonderful, from not only the fact that while I was watching this man giving a speech I myself was becoming a part of history. Not just me. Thousands of people crouded the streets in order to become part of history and have something to tell to the upcoming generation. It would sound something like this: I am extremely proud to tell you that I was present at the inaugration of President Obama. And that, the one moment it felt as though deep down somewhere lied the true meaning of a successful country named: The United States of America. You have the freedom of doing such as: freedom of speech, free to practise your religion, to be heard from, freedom of giving a vote, not jgded by your skin colour-relegion-or language, freedom of wearing what you want, moving to any state you wish to, and doing any job or joining a group of business people.

Some facts on Obama are :

Wife, Michelle Obama. Daughters,Malia Ann and Natasha (Sasha).

Became president, November 5 2008. Name, Barack Hussein Obama.

Parents, Ann Dunham and Stanley Dunham.

General Manager: If I was the general manager of the ottawa senators I would be very supportive and tell the team after every game; they’ve done a great job and tried hard. Maybe I wouldn’t go that easy or too hard on them. I’ll try and keep it in a limit. So far that’s all I’ve got to say for myself as a general manager. Maybe I’ll tell them to try harder next time and get a move on.

The Senators play in the NHL stadium. The Senators future goal is to win more games and look forward to having better players. Players that can help them win games. And get more shots. The Senators are also looking forward to Stanley cups and become one of the most loved hockey teams in the NHL.

Current Event / Summary

The current event I am writing about is : keeping the planet earth clean. This article is about wasting things and not recycling. We can do alot of things to make our planet a better place to live on. Many things we can do are: following the three “Rs; Reduce, Reuse, and Recyle. Many people are beginning to give this alot of thought and are reducing their amount of waste, reusing things that shouldn’t be thrown away, and mostly recycling. A man named Mr. Wongg, owns a restaurant and all of his used oil he leaves it outside his restaurant every week. And the Green Company Collectors come to take it. The  reason they do this is because they can reuse this oil in many different resourceful ways. This article is basically about looking at the size of our land fills. Landfills are places where all our garbage goes and sits there, just rotting. We can’t really do anything about it because theres no other place we can throw this garbage. If we could do that there will be garbage all over the place and certainly planet earth wouldn’t be safe place to live on. Recycling is a major major help and way of decreasing garbage! What reycling brings us is things that can be reused over and over again. What land fills bring us is nothing because it just sits there. There might one way of getting rid of all that garbage. We could burn it, but wait there’s a disadvantage in that too. All of the smoke that mixes into the air we breathe and pollutes it. So its unhealthy for us too.  So the best way is to follow the three Rs!!!!!

All About Me

My Favourite(s)

My favourite teacher was my gr.5 teacher Ms.H. Wilson. She was the best teacher ever, and I’m not just saying it I mean it.There were alot of qualities about her example: she was the kind of teacher you can go and talk about problems whether they’re school problems or friendship problems.Ms. Wilson had alot of ways to help you learn some were:the homework chart that kept track of our homework. The reading program was for us to read for 20 minutes every night for a full month. If we did that we would be promised a treat from our teacher.Ms.Wilson also had a chart that you can go and write down problems or difficulties in class, then every Tuesday we would discuss them with the class. From my opinion I thought it was a good way of solving problems. If you want to know more well don’t be surprised she even had a mini-refridgerator!How cool is that. The refrigderator wasn’t only use to her even we were aloud to use it. Are you starting to feel unlucky? Well go right ahead because I felt pretty lucky to have such an awsome teacher. Gr.5 is the school year I’ll never forget in life!

All About Me

I See Myself In The Future

Age 20 I would like to and become a doctor, because I’d like to see my patients healthy living more than 90-95 years of life. My patients should be healthy and fit all the time. Another reason I want  to become a doctor is because my parent always dreamed of me as a doctor.I would like to open my own clinic. With all the money I make I’ll use it to buy a dashing car. After I move out I’ll buy a great looking house.

After 10 years or so I’ll become a doctor and teach the basics of medication studies. If I am successful in my career I’ll continue if not I’ll move on with my life  and become traveler. One of my favourite places to visit is  Ice Land. That is because it is filled with extraordinary treasures yet to be found. The other place I would want to visit is Australia, that is because it is only made up of 6 islands and is surrounded with water. I think it would be amazing to live in.

When I retire I would like to spend a couple of years in Europe, and  couple in France. I’d like to travel to Egypt and ride camel, observe the pyramids.Did I mention I love to write, so I may even end up being the author of a couple of books.Or I might write about my adventures around the world.Even at my oldest age I would like to keep myself fit and live a longer life than I had expected to.

I will probably spend my last moments with my family, grandchildren and friends, I will have  family reunion party. At other times I would relax and teach yoga and ways to relax your body. For my very last traveling season I’d like to travel to Japan learn their culture and tradition. How they survive, what physical challenges they faced and still are facing.Maybe write a couple of more books and spend the rest of my life at home relaxing.

All About Me

The 5 best things About Me

The first best thing about me is art. Well I don’t like to brag, but my artwork is getting me straight A+s,certificates. Most of my friends tell me to be an artist when I grow up. But I have other plans for my future life. For ex: becoming a doctor, not something I’m good at but I’ll train.

The second best thing about me is helping out others. The way I would describe me with helping out others would be like:my friends I correct their work, give them ideas. Helping people doesn’t have to be at school it can be anywhere. At home you could help your mom do the dishes, help your dad wash the car or even help a younger sibling in their homework. At other times you could hold the door for an elderly person. Just like I do.

The third best thing about me is that I can be an excellent student. Example: I bring my homework and assignments on time, I am never late for school. My desk and binders are neatly organized,I behave in class and I don’t disturb others. When there’s an upcoming test I jot down notes and facts to help me study. I am also an excelent speaker with a loud voice. And ofcourse I co-operate with my classmtes and share ideas.

The fourth best thing about me is that I can be good friend. My friends can count on me  whenever they need help. Whether its school work or other stuff. If my friends seem glum for some reason, I can cheer them up by saying nice things that’ll help them feel better. If one of my friends made it to the stage and got stage fright or got nervous I would help her think positive thoughts.

The fifth best thing about me is being honest. If I am not honest about something the guilt of lying never leaves my mind. I am not honest because I have to , I am honest because I should be. If your honest to someone  you can win their trust, they should be able to trust you blind folded. If you know someone dearly who is doing something wrong and told you to keep quiet about it. You know what’s best for you and the person , tell an adult.
